Crazy day

Posted on January 31, 2009 at 11:56 pm in

We had a busy day today. Jodi and the kids were over, the basement got trashed (again), Logan and Gavin’s bball coach Frank stopped by for a few beers, and then Will had his first sleepover at our house. Rough day, but it was fun.

Today was Logan’s birthday. His party is next week, but a few of his friends were over this evening before going out to dinner together.

Just a link to the info over at consumerist.org regarding the peanut butter/salmonella thing. Products from Hy-Vee and Wegman’s are affected.

Fred’s place and an Eagles win

Posted on January 4, 2009 at 8:19 pm in

We had a mid afternoon “dry run” lunch/sample session at Fred’s place over in Burlington, NJ. Fred is opening half of his bar as a Mexican restaurant and has family and friends of the staff coming in over the next few days to work out any kinks, sample the food, and get feedback before it goes live. We had a nice time and some really good food, and left stuffed.

When we got home, Melissa of course watched the Eagles vs the Vikings. She’s now convinced that she is going to go to the Superbowl in Tampa.

Gingerbread house

Posted on January 1, 2009 at 6:10 pm in

Melissa spent a lot of this afternoon working on a gingerbread house kit with the boys. it wasn’t very easy, the icing didnt act as the mortar/glue as well as it was supposed to, so she substituted regular old cream cheese icing from a can to hold the structure together. After several building/let-it-dry-some sessions, it was finished. About 45 minutes later, the kids demolished and ate it.
