Today was sadly our last day in Longport. Darren took us on a little trip down to the end of the island to do some more fishing, where we took a lot of photos.
Thanks again to Bridget, Darren, Zara & Jakob for hosting a wonderful extended weekend at their shore house. We all had a great time!
Bye bye Summer!
This morning Darren took us fishing, the boys LOVED it, Melayna was a little scared when the dock moved up and down from some waves.
We spent the afternoon back on the beach, the Gannons arrived and the boys all had a great time playing football. After we all got a bit cleaned up, we took a nice walk to Maynard’s Cafe in Margate for dinner, and had water ice and ice cream at the Margate Dairy Bar afterwards.
The kids TRIED to stay up all night, but just couldn’t make it on full stomachs after all the day’s activites.
Gavin is 9 years old today!!
This morning we drove down to Bridget and Darren’s house in Longport, and spent the afternoon on the beach. The weather after the hurricane was perfect, the surf was rough, but the water was amazingly warm and fun.
This evening we all went to Carmine’s in Atlantic City and had a nice dinner, a HUGE “Tugboat” of ice cream (as opposed to the 2x as big Titanic) and visited a few stores including the magic shop.
Today Melayna paid a visit to her “new classrooms” at KinderWorks where she will be a Teddy Bear this year. Christopher and Julia were also there.
At home this evening, Melayna and Gavin opened some “in between” birthday presents. Those are presents that arrive slightly after Melayna’s birthday and slightly before Gavin’s. They both love it. Thanks to all for the gifts!
Today was the first day of school for the year. Melissa took a bunch of photos of the kids and the parents at the bus stop this morning.
Melissa and friends took the kids for yet another day at the shore, nearing the end of the summer this year. (More to come in a few days…)

Melayna is FOUR years old today. She has informed me that she is NOT “tiny” because she is now four, and that means she’s “big”.
